Nishan Kulatilaka joined Merck in 2014 as an Associate Director in Applied Technology. Operating within Merck IT, the Applied Technology group builds disruptive services and architectures for a rapidly evolving health data landscape.
Nishan leads initiatives to prototype and pilot emerging technologies to determine their efficacy when they intersect with healthcare. Currently, his main area of focus is in the space of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, with additional work exploring quantum computing and health data standards.
Prior to joining Merck, Nishan was a Technical Coordinator at Epic Systems where he developed and implemented electronic medical record software. Nishan received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
