Jerry Rudisin is CEO and a co-founder of Backdrop Health, Inc. in Salt Lake City. The company was launched in 2020 to commercialize novel machine learning and AI technology developed at The University of Utah, to analyze and fully understand the vast electronic medical data sets available today. Jerry is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Utah. Before moving to Salt Lake City, he lived in Silicon Valley where he served as CEO of four business-to-business software startups / growth companies. Funded by venture capital firms including Sequoia Capital, USVP, NEA, Menlo Ventures, and Redpoint, these firms — Flybits, Schooner Information Technologies, Agitar Software, and NightFire Software – created high-value solutions in a variety of markets. Previously Jerry was VP of Marketing at Rational Software (now IBM Rational) as it grew from a private company of $28 million in revenue to a public company with revenues of $412 million. Jerry has an MS in Computer Science from UCLA, and a BS in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science from MIT.
