David J. Kroll, Ph.D. is a pharmacologist and, since 2012, a contributor to the Pharma & Healthcare page at Forbes.com.
During his 20-year academic career investigating cancer drugs from nature, he was a tenured faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy and North Carolina Central University, and senior research pharmacologist at RTI International. Dr. Kroll received 11 teaching awards while at Colorado and considers his freelance writing career an extension of his public and professional educational mission.
Dr. Kroll holds a B.S. in toxicology at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and a Ph.D. in pharmacology and therapeutics from the University of Florida. Residing in Durham, North Carolina, he is also an adjunct associate professor of medicine at Duke University.
