Director Specialty Care and Clinical Innovation,
LAC+USC Medical Center

Dr. Lee is the Director of Specialty Care at the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center, the largest medical center in the second largest municipal network in the United States, serving low-income safety-net patients. He oversees 15 departments and over 168 specialty clinics. He received his medical degree from Western University and his Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship at LAC+USC Medical Center. Thereafter, he remained at the USC Keck Medical Center as a full time faculty involved with teaching, researching , and building chronic disease manage practices.

With the need to transform the Los Angeles County Healthcare system with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, he was recruited to lead as the director of specialty care for the largest medical center in the Los Angeles County Healthcare Network. With his passion for healthcare transformation, he also assumed the role of the Director of Clinical Innovation at LAC+USC Medical Center. In partnership with the California HealthCare Foundation, LAC+USC Medical Center, Los Angeles County Health Agency, and UCSF Healthforce Center, Dr. Lee built the first Medical Innovation Incubator within the Los Angeles County Healthcare System. This achievement was recognized by the LA County Productivity and Quality Commission. This unit provides a new model for designing and accelerating innovation within a government-run healthcare system.
