Dr. Ted Chan is Professor and Chair of Emergency Medicine at UC San Diego. He completed medical school at UC San Francisco and residency training at UC San Diego. Previously, he worked in the federal Office of the Assistant Surgeon General, as well as California State Senate. Dr. Chan research interests include informatics, ED operations, and prehospital medicine, and his work has been supported by the NIH, Department of Justice, and RWJ Foundation. Dr. Chan has spoken at the White House on health information technology and now leads UC San Diego’s geriatric Emergency Department initiative in collaboration with the West Health Institute
