After treatment for breast cancer, I saw an announcement on Facebook from the Young Survival Coalition, looking for state leaders. I knew nothing of the work they had done; I just winged it as usual. Once I met with other survivors like me, I saw that I had accepted my body post-treatment better than other ladies seemed to have. So I had to help, beyond the YSC. My husband and I started Haus of Volta, a nonprofit collective aimed at promoting self-love and body acceptance among survivors, and others.
