Joe is the Founder and CEO of NurseGrid, and lives at the intersection of healthcare and entrepreneurship. He works with an equal passion for direct patient care and the reduction of operational inefficiencies within the healthcare delivery system. His core belief is that healthcare systems and healthcare providers should have the 21st century tools that allow them to be efficient and effective.
Joe has been working in and around hospitals for the past seventeen years as a clinician, a clinical/operational leader and overseen many special projects including product and service procurement, recruiting and hiring, and policy and program development. His background also includes consulting for some of the largest organizations in the US around emergency response and workplace safety. With a BSN-RN, he remains passionate about the nursing profession and the future of the industry.
Over the last ten years, Joe built, launched, grew and advised startups and young organizations, and sat on three corporate and non-profit boards of directors. He remains active in the Silicon Valley and Portland startup communities and enjoys mentoring and being mentored.
Joe’s current venture, NurseGrid, has been a deep passion since his earliest days as a nurse. With the support of an incredible team, the Portland startup community, and nurses across the Nation–together they are bringing nursing into the 21st century.
