Dana Dinerman is the founder of Hulabelle Swim and Resort wear. She is also a breast cancer thriver/advocate. Dana was diagnosed with Stage III Intraductal Carcinoma in November 2011 at the age of 34.  Dana opted to have a single mastectomy without reconstruction. After her surgery and six months of intense chemotherapy followed by radiation to her chest wall Dana was ready for a break. Her family planned on going to Maui Hawaii to celebrate the end of her treatment. Yet, a set back would cause some discouragement for the new survivor. The swim pieces in the local shops did not offer pockets for her prosthetic and the suits were too revealing. Dana went to medical supply shops to find the swimsuits offered to patients were not fashion forward or comfortable. She decided to research and see if there was a need. Dana would discover there was a need for comfortable swimwear that was fashion forward yet also had the right components for those who needed coverage and a pocket for a swim form. Hulabelle was then created and has been helping young women find swimwear for their summer months since 2016.

Dana has been battling breast cancer on and off since her original diagnosis. She has been through chemotherapy and radiation multiple times. She is living with breast cancer as a chronic condition. She has decided living in the moment and enjoying each day is the best gift she can give herself. She likes to help other survivors and has given back through such charities as Young Survivor Coalition, Susan G Komen, and American Cancer Society.

Dana’s brand Hulabelle has been featured or seen in several publications including Ranch and Coast Magazine, La Jolla Light, NBC Today Show, NBC Channel 7 San Diego, Fox 6 in the mornings,  and various blogs. Dana’s collection has also walked the runway in FWSD both in 2017 and 2018. Dana’s personal story has been featured in national publications such as Glamour Magazine, WebMD, and Readers Digest, and a television commercial for WWE and Susan G. Komen.
