Ms. Marshall joins Solera as their Vice President of Social Determinants of Health. Prior to joining Solera, Michelle served as the Managing Director of Health and Nutrition at Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization where she led the national health and nutrition strategies and initiatives, built key strategic partnerships with leading health and nutrition experts and organizations, and spearheaded research efforts to identify how hunger- relief efforts can improve food security, nutrition and health. Ms. Marshall played an instrumental role in shifting Feeding America’s focus towards improving nutrition and health for people who are food insecure and elevating the criticality of partnering more effectively with the health care system to achieve these goals. Prior to joining Feeding America, Michelle worked as a nutrition instructor at Kendall Culinary College in Chicago, served as Dietitian at WIC in Sacramento County, and as a nutrition consultant on several international nutrition intervention projects. Michelle was the recipient of the 2014 Hunger &; Environmental Nutrition Award of Excellence and a co-author on the 2017 Position Paper on Food Security for the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. She received a bachelor’s degree in international development from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a master’s degree in nutritional science from San Jose State University. Michelle is a certified yoga instructor, barre and outdoor enthusiast, and best of all a mom to daughter Nora (4) and son Kellan (2).
