Dr. Joseph Smith is the president and CEO of Reflexion Health, a digital health company. Previously, Dr. Joseph Smith was a practicing cardiologist and brings decades of health-IT focused strategic, engineering and clinical expertise to his current role as the head of an innovative digital medicine company. Dr. Smith’s extensive leadership background in technology, policy, clinical practice and medical industries gives a strong foundation to Reflexion Health’s mission to bring personalized healthcare into patients’ homes.
Prior to joining Reflexion Health, Dr. Smith served as the founding chief medical and science officer at the West Health Institute, a medical research organization established in 2009 by the Gary and Mary West Foundation. He also served as president of the West Health Policy Center in Washington, D.C., and the manager of the West Health Investment Fund. Previously, Dr. Smith was vice president of Emerging Technologies for Johnson & Johnson, senior vice president and chief medical officer of Guidant/Boston Scientific’s Cardiac Rhythm Management division, and Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.
He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard Medical School. He describes his greatest achievement as the raising of his two sons.
